...and then

And that's how we did it.

An enterprising woman in my apartment got us all to participate in the earth hour last night.

And it was such good fun. We switched everything off, the moon was gorgeous, it was warm and the gusty wind was hot but togetherness, icecream and tambola right there in the front yard made up for absolutely any discomfort. It feels nice to know that we contributed in some way. Even though as Indians we are consistently and continually careful of how much electricity we use up.

Nice initiative people caring about earth hour and all...though I must say we were having a rock show as a part of college fest at the canonical hour

nice blog.
we had an earth hour party with colleagues at work, complete with earth hour t-shirts, chips & dip and all. it was lots of fun. although i would think that some indians are most careless about electricity, the environment, trees etc. because they just couldnt be bothered what would happen to someone else (read - the next generation) as long as their needs are met !! just my view on things...

Su: We r most careless abt the outcomes of power wastage but we care abt electricity bills :) we'll do anything to pay smaller bills, no? who cares abt the next generation as long as this one has money, no matter if it coems from cutting a zillion trees or piling up plastic waste.
